Daiku Woodworking
Koanji
I returned to the States for six months and then returned to work with Yoshida on this temple in the nearby city of Koriyama, living with him at his home in Takine, a small town in the mountains of Fukushima. He had a small shop in the middle of his rice fields where we prepared all the pieces of the building. We then took them to the site and put up the frame in a couple of days. The next step was to finish the roof while the plasterers worked on the clay-straw walls and then the interior finish work.
